"SOMETIMES IT SNOWS IN APRIL" is a concept mix for British designers TEATUM JONES. The music was put together for their live debut exhibition at the London Fashion Week on 16th Sept, 2011. Their Spring Summer 2012 collection examines the sentimental perfection of 1950's American suburbia and explores the darker side of life behind the sugary pastel coloured walls. The reality of soured dreams and painful truths.

This sixty minute mix features various film dialogue and soundtracks, classic 50's nostalgia from Connie Francis, The Flamingoes and more. Alongside modern day ambient and electronic music from the likes of Helios, Magnus International, Moby, Tom Middleton and Nouvelle Vague!

It was a total privilege to be asked to create this mix for Teatum Jones's London Fashion Week show. So very much looking forward to working with them on their next collections soundtrack!

A kinda part two/continuation of Longwave Perestroika™ from podcast #14, back in May. Aeriform again recollects a part of his childhood, a time when musicians pushed technology to create new music, while governments pushed their technologies to darker reaches. There's more of an 80's synthesised sound going on here than Longwave had, yet still wonderfully joining the dots from those times to present day electronica. A darker journey than part one perhaps...set stereo to Defcon 1!!!

Ok so there might be a clue in the title of what to expect in this wildaboutnothin' podcast from Craig Bratley. That said, don't let that stop you playing this on ANY day of the week, yo-ghurt me? Bratley has curated 50 minutes of tunes that he doesnt usually get chance to play out of his record box, so be sure to file under, lazy day, tricky hangover, or the morning after... it may just soothe your souls.....!

His own production work & remixes have been getting plenty of dj support in the last 12 months, most notable props have been coming from the likes of The Revenge, Groove Armada, Diesel, Andrew Weatherall, Bill Brewster, Chris Coco, Greg Wilson, Cosmic Boogie and PBR Street Gang. Longwave Perestroika™ is an electronic mix inspired by Aeriform's youth spent listening to late night radio in the early 80s, mainly the shows of English dj, John Peel and the excitement of being exposed to new sounds through a crackly radio. The mix partly reflects Aeriforms fears as a kid of the Cold War and constant underlying threat of all out devastation. A sense of fear, the unknown and reoccurring dreams. A 60 minute journey which, quite simply is one of the best mixes i've heard in a long time. Enjoy!

"WHAT'S NOW"

Been off the boil in the last couple of months, so it's a relief and a pleasure to have one more exclusive guest mix to see out 2010. And what a mix! Thirty-six minutes of pure fire from Brooklyn-based electronic hip-hop dj & musician Kurtis Hairston, aka KRTS.

First stumbled on KRTS's music earlier in 2010 with his 'Remixes for Beards and Flannels' free download on Bandcamp. KRTS is the kinda dj/producer breathing in all kinds of styles and genres, and for me i get a sense of honesty with his music. I think these days it's easier getting your music out there but is equally hard to stand above the shite. And thats why Krts has deservedly made a name for himself in 2010! Enjoy!

Thirteen tunes from Danish producer Robin Hannibal (Owusu & Hannibal/Quadron/Boom Clap Bachelors). His 2007 'Living With Owusu & Hannibal' album is one of my favourite albums of the last ten years. So, we hugely blessed Robin has curated this mix exclusively for wildaboutnothin' podcast!

'13 from Bobby' represents Robin's musical flava, from Danish indie band Mew to the American rnb sound of The Dream. If you're familiar with Robin's production, you can hear the inspiration throughout. The mix is wonderfully rounded up with one of his own tunes, Wake Up Call. Big up Bobby!

Brand new mixtape by wildaboutnothin' cohort, Aeriform. I still have cassette tapes somewhere in my attic of Aeriform's ambient mixes from 20 years ago. For me this episode is an arc back to those times albeit with a newer soundtrack. Inside ROOM 1520 is thirty three minutes of cinematic ambience, where the only beats per minute are those of your heart....lower the lights, attach headphones, press play and sit back. Beautiful.

"SOME BULLION"

A mix of one of my favourite producers, South London's BULLION. It was his bootleg album "In The Key Of Dee" that caught everyones attention. The album fused The Beach Boys 'Pet Sounds' lp with J-Dilla beats. For me a far superior piece of production and programming than the Jay-Z/Beatles bootleg Grey Album by Danger Mouse! He has since gone on to show his quality & originality with several releases & remixes via One Handed Music, some of which features in this mix.
